Windstar Glass

"Windstar Glass" is the professional name of Shayla Behrman, a notable American glass artist known for her sculptural work, vibrant colors, and unique techniques. She has gained recognition for her functional glass art, particularly her elaborate rigs and pieces featuring themes of nature, pop culture, and spirituality. 

Originally from Colorado, Shayla began her glass-blowing career in January 2014, learning from her father at her mother's headshop. She now resides in Pueblo, Colorado. 

Her work often embodies themes of femininity, motherhood, and power. She is recognized for incorporating detailed attachments like her signature monarch butterflies and has collaborated with other prominent artists.

She is highly skilled in surface work techniques, particularly stringer tech and a mastered "Sock Flip Technique," for which she has won multiple awards. She has also developed unique stained-glass techniques in her work.

Behrman has placed in the top 6 at the Champs Glass Games multiple times and has received "People's Choice" and "Artist's Choice" awards. She also placed second at the Pipe Classic in 2021.

Beyond creating art, she has been an instructor at places like Snow Farm and has traveled internationally to teach her techniques. She actively donates pieces to philanthropic events such as the Michigan Glass Project and the Injured Artist Fund.
